Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman first aired on January 1st, 1993. The series was created by Beth Sullivan and it aired on CBS until May 16th of 1998 when the show was cancelled. The show now airs reruns on the Hallmark Channel 7 days a week.

Jane Seymour played "Dr. Mike", a woman physician in the 1860's who leaves her home (Boston) to come out west and start her own practice after her father dies. Arriving in Colorado Springs she is met by people who "don't want no woman doctor" and has to prove her self in many ways. She finds a wonderful friend in Charlotte Cooper, the resident mid-wife who also runs the boarding house. But when Charlotte dies of a rattlesnake bite, Dr. Mike takes on her three children Matthew (Chad Allen), Colleen (Erika Flores, later Jessica Bowman), and Brian (Shawn Toovey) and has much to learn about being a mother.
